TOM: I see a slight discrepancy in this policy. What we want is dignity to show our lives are worth more than dollar signs. Did someone say there must be a better way? A healthcare system run by greed to serve the interest of the rich man. Delayed response that says one thousand words per second. I just don't understand why this country doesn't see. They see whose lives are on the line and that shows how quickly they'll react. Does it take one day? Does it take two days to act? Does it take three days? Not for the world trade center. There's no difference. We will sit and ponder this. Another point for the upper class. VANESSA: You'll lose it all. We'll let you watch it. We let you feel it. Everything sinking away.

JAKE: So you want to start a revolution? So you really want to make a change? So you think I'm against your cause, up on your soap box, staring down at me. I am so defective. I am so flawed. I'm not perfect. You're not perfect. TOM: You pass judgment on my actions. But you're not immune to contradiction every time when you turn on your engine, and to isolation because elitism is division. It's just a front for insecurity. From a point of privilege, everything so black and white. While your income affords your luxuries. I guess everything so wrong or right. Your purchases won't save the world you criticize and miss the point. We're doing something and that's more than nothing. I'd like to see you give up your luxuries today and back up your words.

Dawson 04:05
JAKE: So lost in myself, this cure is just an opiate, something I need from time to time to get me by day to day, to fill me up and make me whole. Solid ground is solid ice. My footing's gone, and all is lost in these words. I heal myself in these words. I hurt myself in these words. I doom myself. Will I face myself? TOM: I thought that this could take the place. I thought that this could fill a void. Consumed by selfishness, I stumble and see my fears are still exposed. So sure that I had broken this fall, but inside I fall apart. I never said what needs to be said. Go on lost yourself, take the bait. Go on hide your head in your dismay. The past 12 years are like a movie and I play myself every time. At the expense of hose I care for, never seeing what's beneath. I separate for nothing.

JAKE: Once what was given, has now been taken suddenly, prematurely. TOM: These pictures, black and white, nothing. VANESSA: Never bothered to think I'd never see you again. Never had a proper farewell. Never bothered to think that this would happen at all. This was not my idea of a goodbye. Anytime could be the last... Quick glimpses in dreams are not enough to get me through this.
5.
TOM: I have no recollection of life before you took control. I have no memory of those days before. So tell me who will answer for these things we won't discuss? Explain how I should hide these scars from your sight. You can't take this back again. Should I let you die without telling you that what you did to me is irreversible? Don't tell me I have to hold back my tears. I wish you knew how dark it was. You made this monster out of me. I'll never hear my son call my name. VANESSA: I'm not okay with this... These walls have seen anger. And you can paint them every year and they're still the same. These walls have seen pain. And all the paint in the world can't erase those scenes. Repetition is the pattern of rage, these walls let me see. You won't see this pattern in me.
